I often get asked by collectors and by those who follow my artwork if I sell prints. The short answer is ‘of course!’ I have found that the best option is to use Fine Art America to fulfill print orders. Those who want to buy one of my prints can order directly from my profile page on Fine Art America. Customers can choose a print in a variety of sizes and on several paper and canvas options. The print will then ship directly to the customer and I will get a commission from the sale.

Some of my best work is available to order as a print today. Visit my profile page and have yours delivered right to your doorstep.

WINTER RUNNING

Rails to trails Montana, photograph

Distance running has been a part of my life since college. As a plein air painter, I have a love for the outdoors so naturally I would choose an exercise that would be outdoor based as well. Back in California, my wife and I would run almost every day together. Our old town of Concord was surrounded by a vast network of trails in the rolling oak studded hills. Since leaving the Bay Area of California over four years ago, the running has taken a back seat. With so many life changes and new challenges to face and just simply getting out of our routine, running fell by the wayside.

We have tried to start up again a few times since then, but knee soreness or other injuries would keep flaring up. Last summer I began reading articles about the benefits of barefoot running and running with minimalist footwear. Modern running footwear with its raised heels and stiff arch support encourages runners to heel strike which puts a ton of stress on the joints. It also weakens all the muscles in the feet in the same manner as a cast immobilizes a limb and causes it to become weak. Since I believe that God created us perfectly and created us to run, this concept made sense to me and I made the switch.

Running barefoot or with minimal shoes forces the runner to shorten their stride and strike on the front of the foot which absorbs much of the shock. Since switching to barefoot running and using minimalist shoes, I have been able to run injury free since last June, even through the cold, snowy Montana winter.
